TLC marked Harmony Day with our most spectacular Multicultural Expo yet! Our community came together in a vibrant celebration of diversity, culture and unity, taking students on an unforgettable journey around the world. Thanks to the incredible efforts of our TLC families, students had the opportunity to explore and experience the rich cultural heritage of our global community through delicious food, exciting games, beautiful art, captivating stories and traditional performances.
This annual event, which continues to grow each year, was a resounding success – and it wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and generosity of our amazing parents and carers who gave up their time to host stalls and share their cultures. A huge thank you to everyone for helping make the day so enriching, entertaining and inspiring!
This year’s Expo featured a record number of countries, each offering a unique window into their culture:
A World of Culture at TLC

China – Over 25 parent volunteers brought interactive activities like traditional art and calligraphy and challenged students with fun trivia, giving away prizes for correct answers.

South Korea – Students played traditional Korean games like ddakji and gonggi while sampling popular snacks, with turtle chips stealing the show.

Russia – Stall-goers enjoyed babushka doll colouring, children’s books and the sweet treats sushki, bubliki, and baranki.

Fiji – Greeted with a hearty "Bula!" visitors savoured delicious, homemade traditional Fijian food.

Kenya – A standout stall, offering food so popular it was the first to sell out!

Japan – Students loved kingyo-sukui, the traditional Japanese goldfish scooping game, and cute Japanese stickers as prizes.

Vietnam – Run by students who put tremendous effort into serving rice paper rolls, fried rice and an authentic Vietnamese lunch.

Colombia – With a record number of parents participating, the stall featured colourful dancing, mini dance lessons and an Encanto-inspired tea and snack corner.

Nepal – Making their Expo debut, Nepal’s stall was run by students whose handmade samosas were a crowd favorite.

France – A student-led showcase of French culture, offering croissants, baguettes and colouring-in activities.

England – Visitors enjoyed a classic British afternoon tea and tried their hand at cricket.

Australia – First Nations families led a didgeridoo workshop, grass weaving and a collaborative hand-painted artwork. Alongside, we had some other families who had collected dried native leaves that our stall-goers used in creative artworks as they enjoyed some lamingtons and the Aussie classic Vegemite sandwiches provided by our TLCCA.

India – Once again a crowd favourite, run by our students this year, featuring henna, traditional food and colourful saris.

Scandinavia – Students learned to write their names in Viking runes and channeled warrior energy and Norse traditions.

Persia – Dazzling traditional dance demonstrations and sparkly cultural attire drew a big crowd.

New Zealand – Visitors made their very own poi and learned about traditional Māori dance.

South Africa – With rugby, African animal quizzes and a homemade milk tart, this student-run stall shared sweet traditions and sport.

Austria – Students served up delicious strudel and Leberkässemmel sandwiches.

Sri Lanka – A feast of dishes and a showcase of Sri Lankan art, crafts and culture.

Brazil – The green-and-yellow stall served decadent Brigadeiro (Brazilian fudge balls).

Italy – A student-run stall with galletti and other Italian sweets.

Harmony Day Stall – Led by FaVE students and teachers, visitors made their own Harmony Day crowns.

Face Painting – Thanks to our talented Secondary students, visitors wore their chosen hand painted flags proudly.
Performances and Workshops
The celebration didn’t stop at the stalls – students and parents also delivered incredible performances, including Colombian Dance, Bhangra Dance and traditional Chinese Dance. Guests enjoyed the Let's Bollywood Dance Workshop, Tai Chi and cultural performances, thrilling Chinese Lion Dancing by the International Wushu Academy and a jaw-dropping Taekwondo demonstration by PK Taekwondo.
A Celebration of Unity
The Multicultural Expo is a powerful reminder of the beauty and strength found in diversity. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this day one to remember. We are already looking forward to next year’s Expo, which promises to be even bigger and better!
