Relief Teacher and/or Relief Learning Assistant

Vocational Teacher Aide Placements

The Lakes College will not be taking on any vocational placements until Semester 2 of 2022.

Candidates enrolled to study a Certificate III in Educational Support can apply for a Vocational Teacher Aide placement at any time during the year, however applications are pooled for consideration as part of two block placements per year.

Block placement one covers Term 1 & 2 and Block placement 2 covers Term 3 & 4.

Places are limited, and successful candidates must be prepared to work across both the Primary and Secondary schools. A vocational placement with the College does not guarantee employment with the College on completion of your course.

College Nurse

ABOUT THE ROLE

As College Nurse you will report to the Deputy Principal - People and Culture but is accountable to the College Principal for reportable matters pertaining to the health and wellbeing of staff and students at the College.

Operationally you will work independently in the College Wellness Centre, performing a range of clinical and administrative duties including the provision of first aid as the designated officer, as well as specialised and intimate care for students, management, monitoring and administration of medications to students, maintenance of student medical records and maintenance of first aid supplies and facilities for the College.

Strategically you work with the College and families to identify and implement reasonable adjustments for students with health needs, train college staff to safely and competently support student health needs and health procedures and support the College to meet our obligations to students with health conditions on enrolment or as an emergent need.

This role is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Nurse to work collaboratively within an inclusive College community to address the barriers to learning for children and young people, improving their educational outcomes and achievements, and social and emotional wellbeing.

This is a 39-week term time role, with the successful candidate required to work Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm to meet the needs of students in our thriving Prep to Year 12 College.

  1. Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency – AHPRA).
  2. A commitment to the vision, mission, and values of the College as a Ministry of the Uniting Church.
  3. Demonstrated skills working as an enrolled or registered nurse with children and adolescents within a community, youth or educational environment.
  4. Demonstrated expertise providing nursing services and advice tailored to meet the health care needs of school aged children including those with acute or chronic conditions.
  5. A careful regard for professional and ethical nursing practice including a strong duty of care for children and young people.
  6. A demonstrated commitment to providing confidential and evidence-based services.

Property Services Officer (Cleaner)

We are looking to engage a number of AM and PM cleaners to commence with the College in January 2025.

As a Property Services Officer (Cleaner) you will understand and support the need for a clean and sanitary environment, as essential for fostering a safe and conducive learning atmosphere, actively contributing to routine and schedule cleaning services.

Your stewardship of the College will be central in maintaining the hygiene and appearance of the College facilities, as well as providing support for other essential services and functional areas across the College.

Candidates must be physical fit with an understanding of work health and safety and manual handling protocols.

As a permanent part time Property Services Officer (Cleaner) some flexibility may be required to help manage the demands of the Property Services Team, within a busy educational setting.

Candidates for this role must address the following selection criteria:

  1. Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety procedures.
  2. Ability to perform general labor tasks and basic maintenance.
  3. Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
  4. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a busy and dynamic team.
  5. Flexibility and willingness to undertake a variety of tasks to support the College community.
  6. Willingness to support the College’s core values as a Ministry of the Uniting Church.
