Vocational Teacher Aide Placements
The Lakes College will not be taking on any vocational placements until Semester 2 of 2022.
Candidates enrolled to study a Certificate III in Educational Support can apply for a Vocational Teacher Aide placement at any time during the year, however applications are pooled for consideration as part of two block placements per year.
Block placement one covers Term 1 & 2 and Block placement 2 covers Term 3 & 4.
Places are limited, and successful candidates must be prepared to work across both the Primary and Secondary schools. A vocational placement with the College does not guarantee employment with the College on completion of your course.

Director of Engagement
Provide strategic direction and leadership as you drive the operational direction of our College Engagement Team. This will be a permanent full-time appointment.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director of Engagement is responsible for overseeing all facets of engagement with our internal and external community. You will lead the engagement team, provide strategic leadership and drive the operational direction of the College in the areas of student admissions, marketing, communications, community relations, events management, alumni, fundraising and main reception.
The Director of Engagement will be integral to creating a unified approach to the areas of community engagement and delivering high-level outcomes. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer you will have a close working relationship with the Principal, Senior Executive Leaders and Operational Directors within the College.
This position will require flexible working hours, with the Director of Engagement required to attend functions and promotional events as part of their role after hours and on the occasional weekend.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The position of Head of Faculty is a significant role, aligned with the AITSL Middle Leader Standards, who is responsible for the leadership of the faculty’s pedagogical practices, effective management of the faculty (people, resources, and processes) and the coordination of high-impact teaching and learning.
As a Position of Added Responsibility (PAR), this is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced or aspirant leader to explore their educational leadership journey and their commitment to the stewardship of The Lakes College.
PAR appointments are for an initial period of 3-years with a subsequent 3-year appointment subject to the continued designation of the position and a satisfactory performance review towards the conclusion of the initial period of appointment.

Senior Legal Studies and Humanities Teacher

Responsible to the Head of Secondary, you will act under the direction of the curriculum Heads of Faculty, developing and delivering a contemporary, innovative curriculum which is underpinned by clear expectations about high-quality learning outcomes in a culturally diverse society.
As a Senior Legal Studies Teacher, you will be able to apply the QCAA Legal Studies syllabus and play an important role in the engagement of senior secondary students as they explore the interaction between society and the discipline of law and their understanding and questioning of legal processes and concepts.
As a Humanities Teacher you will introduce students to humanities as a contemporary, evolving and dynamic discipline, allowing them to develop their knowledge and understanding of traditions and values that have shaped societies and the ways people, places, ideas and events are perceived and connected.
You will promote curiosity and innovation with our junior secondary students through a multi-disciplinary approach to the teaching of business and legal studies.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate their understanding of the relevant QCAA and ACARA curriculum and how they can apply it in a contemporary educational setting, while also catering to the learning needs of their students.
